The Rail Freight Group is a company which lobbies on behalf of its members "to promote cost effective rail solutions for freight. Our members include customers, logistics providers, suppliers, terminal operators, ports and freight train operating companies." U-turn over East End's last parking 'oasis'
TRAFFIC chiefs are set to make a U-turn and scrap draconian plans for new parking controls near the 2012 London Olympics site. Tower Hamlets council is poised to drop proposals for a full-scale parking clampdown in the 'Fish Island' neighbourhood of Old Ford.

Massimo Allamandola has at last been able to bring to my attention the report, which I have attached below, about the response in Nov 2005, by the 'Regents Network' of canal users to British Waterways proposal to impound the River Lea by building a 'Water Control Structure' at Prescott Channel.

A year on from London winning the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games for London, work has begun to prepare the Olympic Park. Transport upgrades
Campaigning lobby Rail Future have welcomed the 2005 Transport Select Committee's recognition that proposals must "fit into an integrated, long term transport plan" and leave a "legacy appropriate to the (ongoing) needs of [e]ast London". However, they query the extent to which the Government has agreed to fund basic improvements to the rail network in London.

City Airport sale
LONDON City Airport is to be sold to a US consortium including insurance company AIG for an undisclosed amount. Although the sale sum has not been announced, reports suggested it could be £750 million.
