Latest Velopark plan

Richard Arnold of ODA and Mike Taylor of Hopkins Architects presented the velopark legacy designs in way more detail than had been shown in the general press launch earlier this week [9 Sept 2008].

These designs arose from the legacy commitment secured by users and then developed in a series of workshops since the previous Eastway Users Group meeting with the ODA. Once it realised the depth of opposition to the old scheme which, as Mike reminded us had the road circuit wrapped around the A12, it set a series of workshops in place, to which users and British Cycling were invited. The latest scheme was broadly finalised by July when the last workshop happened and was given a good reception for its improvements.
