Wouldn't it be extraordinarily dangerous for horses to race across ground lying over a warren of old tunnels? Surely the pounding pressure could cause the ground to collapse? How can the insurance companies who insure Olympic horses tolerate that level of hazard to these expensive, delicate animals? It seems insane.
