Accenture win 'back office systems' contract
The London Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games has selected Accenture to run its 'back office' systems, following a competitive tender process. The London Games Organising Committee received a number of high quality responses to a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) issued on the 11 September 2006. These responses were reviewed on 21 September 2006, and four companies were shortlisted.
The London 2012 integrated 'back office' systems will support the London 2012 Games planning across functional areas and operations including Finance and Accounting, London 2012 Workforce and Procurement.
This contract will not cover Games time operating systems or the core Games management systems that relay results, events and athlete information to spectators and media around the world at Games time. These IT systems are provided by Atos Origin, the Worldwide IT Partner for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games for London 2012. Atos Origin is the lead IT system integrator and is responsible for the design, build and operation of the Games IT infrastructure.
