Not enough French at Vancouver. Period

Bizarrely, after the fuss about the use of French at London 2012 it transpires that bilingual Canada refused, or at least failed, to include sufficient French in Vancouver's opening ceremony. So says the language commissioner, Graham Fraser.

VANCOUVER - A lot of people around the world watched the 2010 Winter Olympics, but not as many as the official Games-time estimate.

The International Olympic Committee’s Vancouver 2010 marketing report shows actual viewership was just over half the oft-repeated 3.5 billion estimate from IOC marketing director Timo Lumme's Feb. 23 news conference.

Vancouver death - blame it on the luger

A Canadian coroner has sought to shift the blame for the death of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili from VANOC on to his alleged inexperience. However, Georgian Olympic Head Giorgi Natsvlishvili rejected the finding saying "It is nonsense to say that an athlete who was officially listed among the world's 40 best lugers ... lacked experience."
