Keep right ORN....more fines, flashmobs and even guerrilla solicitors
Regarding London's Olympic Overload, @matthewBeard reports that Greenwich is upping the stakes on ORN fines by applying for the right to charge £1000, while other Boroughs are also seeking higher fees for recovering towed-away vehicles, taking their charges over the £500 in place at present.
Greenwich has attempted to play this down saying 'London Councils is asking all London borough Leaders' to consider whether they feel the existing parking controls are adequate...we are considering the proposal of an increased level in penalty fines'. However, @nogoe2012 has pointed out that the leader of Greenwich Council told the Greenwich Society a year ago that he wanted fines of £1000!
Meanwhile, @thomasthetaxi reports the success of the taxi Flashmob Demo in St John's Wood as part of London cabbies' continuing protest at their exclusion from the ORN lanes.

Lowcog is also doing its best to further screw things up by withholding details of the torch route from TfL as it is worried about rival businesses planning guerrilla marketing on the route. A 'source' claims "We've been told by Locog to keep it a secret because of the businesses on the route. Anyone could take advantage, from a major bank to a solicitor's firm."
Solicitor's firms? Maybe the ORN will provide them with lucrative opportunities for guerrilla action.
'Inconvenienced by ORN, Olympics sponsors, Locog, the IOC? We can help! Sue for world record damages with the help of our well connected team at Higgins, Jowell, Johnson and SebCo Ltd.'
